A small, private room for musicians who play together. A grand piano, ribbon and condenser pairs, tube preamps, and enough time to get the take.
The room
Made for playing in the same room
The Hut records bands the old way: everyone in one room, every player on their own mic, sightlines open, and the take is the performance. When a session needs more, Dante carries lines and headphone mixes out to other rooms, and overdubs fill in the rest. Jazz trios, string and woodwind players, and country bands with a row of singers have all done their best work here, and with a little creativity the Hut works for most occasions.
Whether you're one musician at the piano, a jazz trio, a woodwind ensemble, a live quintet, or a country band building an album, we can work with you. Tell us what you're after and we'll get creative with the setup.

Mixed here, through the analog chain in the rack: Maag and Trident EQ, Stam EQ and leveling amp.
Mastering prep
Final mixes printed, checked and labelled, ready to hand to your mastering engineer.

- Everything from solo piano to an eight-piece country band with singers: jazz trios, woodwind and string players, and live ensembles, tracked together in one room. Overdubs and mixing too.

- Yes, a grand piano, usually miked with U87 and Royer R-121 pairs. There's also a Nord Grand.
- When can I book?

- Pick a day on the Book the Hut page and tell Scott what you're recording. He confirms every session personally.
- Do you do mixing and mastering?
- Mixing, yes, through the analog chain in the rack. For mastering, final mixes are printed, checked and labelled, ready to hand to your mastering engineer.
- Can I hire a band for a club, party or festival?
